First fully hydraulic Metz aerial ladder
The first fully hydraulic Metz aerial ladder is launched. The Hamburg fire-fighting service takes delivery of the first two ladders.

1967

First upright positively controlled aerial rescue and operations cage
Due to government measures designed to curb the trade cycle, government spending on fire-fighting equipment is still fairly reticent. Despite this fact, Metz continues with its development schedule, and implements an aerial ladder with self-controlled rescue cage.

Aerial ladder DL 53 with rescue cage
For the first time, a positively controlled rescue cage is fitted to a 53 meter hydraulic ladder, and supplied to Yugoslavia.

Swiveling stretcher support
In connection with the positively controlled rescue cage, Metz can now offer a support which allows fire-fighters to rescue injured persons: the "swiveling stretcher support".

Fold-out away rescue cage
During ladder jacking operations, the rescue cage can be remotely erected into working position. This considerably reduces set-up times during operations.

First electronic ladder DLK 30PLC
On the occasion of the 26th German Fire-Fighters Day, the first electronically controlled and monitored aerial ladder DLK 23-12 PLC (Program Logic Control) with proportional hydraulics is launched.

DLK 18 FA
The first DLK 18 FA is delivered, a combination of aerial ladder and fire-fighting vehicle.

1997

Metz Online Support System (MOS) introduced
The new Metz remote diagnostics system, known as MOS (Metz Online Support), gives fire-fighters a fast and comprehensive overview of the status data for he Metz aerial ladder. Fire-fighters can query data such as the ladder set position, the elevation angle, or error messages.
